There apparently is no better way to end a long day of hard playing than sitting in your rocking chair to watch jeopardy with a bag of chocolate cheerios.

Armed with cookies and juice, we took Ryan to get his very first haircut. He did great! Albeit a very serious look on his face the entire time, there was no crying or screeching.

It’s cupcake day! No really, a birthday party for one of his fellow daycare buddies. In case you were concerned, every last crumb was eaten — he left nothing to waste.

Rarely does this kid fall asleep while eating, because well… that would be wasting food. But on this particular day, he just couldn’t help himself.

I like blackberries! And I am going to tell everybody, just in case it wasn’t evident.

Just a minute, let me eat this last one.

So Ryan all of the sudden became attached to his stuffed monkey. It’s the first thing he picks up in the morning and he takes it to bed at night. We wonder when a name for him will come

Well Ryan got to take the biggest trip of his lifetime so far and took a much needed vacation. After a year of growing as much as he has, I think he deserved it. He was nice enough to take his parents, grandparents and “uncle” Brian along. We’ve got quite a few pictures of his adventures (click on the thumbnails for bigger versions)

March 29 came again. I can hardly believe it’s been a year since I woke up on Sunday morning to go to the bathroom and really it was my water breaking. Thirteen hours later Ryan was born.

He ate his cake like a champ and once he figured out we were all watching him, well……. let’s just say he is such a ham.

And you know the best thing about presents….. the boxes they come in. He spent the entire time crawling over this box. Stopping only for the orange light on the camera. (He knows to smile when that light comes on.)

Learning to eat enchiladas

All of the sudden it clicked. This week Ryan figured out that it was ok to pick up those slimy peaches or munch on whole green beens. Gone are the days of blended foods.

Tonight he ate enchiladas all by himself. Thus the posting and the cute picture of what was left (nothing).

The tupperware drawer has arrived

It has been a while since the last post. Ryan is growing like a weed and weighs over 26 pounds. Or at least he did at 10 1/2 months (had an ear infection incident). He climbs the stairs all by himself, cruises the furniture and laughs at us when we tell him to stop feeding the dog. Ryan has 8 teeth and I think more are coming in because the fussy quotient is through the roof (for Ryan that is).

Ryan went to his first OSU men’s basketball game. He sat in his very own seat for quite a while and then proceeded to fall asleep for the first half.
